alsz
Website for Twitch streamer alsz — live/offline Twitch player, weekly schedule, avatar and games showcase, and a community hub.
The problem
alsz wanted one home for their stream, socials and community that they could change themselves, without posting every announcement to Discord by hand.
How it’s built
A React frontend and a Spring Boot API in Docker on a self-hosted server, which also posts to Discord.
Decisions
Discord announcements switched on, scheduled and worded from the dashboard.
Twitch EventSub and YouTube push, so announcements go out within seconds.
An enforced Content Security Policy, checked by an e2e test.
Images built in CI, so the server no longer builds them.
Outcomes
- Visitors have given alsz a lot of positive feedback.
- alsz makes changes themselves from the dashboard.
- Announcements post to Discord without anyone doing it by hand.
What alsz says
Nathan has been amazing to work with. The site is amazing, it looks so good and has everything I could ever want on there, and they’ve made it dummy proof to use so that even a simpleton like me can make changes. I have received a huge amount of positive feedback about the site, from the people who have visited it. I’m so impressed with their work.
