Splatonoodles
Self-hosted website for VTuber Splatonoodles — stream schedule with a live countdown, art gallery, model showcase and clips.
The problem
A Carrd page had no room for the schedule, gallery, models and clips, and Splatonoodles needed a site they could run themselves.
How it’s built
Started from the template, with its demo content and setup wizard removed: a React frontend and a Spring Boot API in Docker on a self-hosted server.
Decisions
One “vibe” pack sets the whole look, baked in at build time; a test bars colour literals.
Game details and cover art from public sources, with no API keys.
Every upload stored as WebP, animations kept.
Mature art behind an age check; video embeds load only when clicked.
Outcomes
- It replaced their Carrd page.
- Splatonoodles updates every page from the dashboard, without me.
- Splatonoodles and their community have been happy with it.
What Splatonoodles says
Nathan did an amazing job creating the website for my brand. Very attentive to detail and constantly providing me with updates and progress snapshots. Listened to my suggestions and implemented everything amazingly. Highly recommend.
